Mehndi Care

FIRST STEPS

To ensure you’re relaxed and comfortable during this important session, we strongly recommend scheduling at least one full day before your wedding events (two days is even better).

The bridal application should ideally take place in your hotel room. If you prefer another location, it must have excellent shade (to prevent the henna from melting), no wind, and perfect lighting. If conditions aren’t ideal, your artist may request to move to a better location to guarantee beautiful results.

The ideal environment for your mehndi is indoors with air conditioning – not too cold, but without humidity. This helps the paste dry properly and ensures the best results.

BEFORE YOUR SESSIONS

Gently exfoliate with a washcloth and neutral soap to remove dead skin cells. Ensure your skin is completely free of oils, lotions or creams as these can affect how well the henna stains.

AFTER THE APPLICATION

Once your design is complete, let the henna dry undisturbed for 30-40 minutes. We will apply our special sealing mixture of water, sugar and essential oil to help set the design. The paste should remain on your skin for 6-8 hours for optimal staining, with overnight being ideal. Avoid contact with water for at least 12 hours after application. Avoid pools and exercising completely.

When removing the dried paste, gently flake it off – never use water, as this will lighten your stain.

After removal, apply pure mustard, almond or coconut oil (we recommend bringing your own preferred oil).

Note that your design will initially appear orange, then deepen to a rich brown over 48 hours. The final color intensity depends on body location, how long the paste stayed on, and your aftercare routine.

FOR MEHNDI PARTIES

Please provide a well-lit, wind-protected area with at least one table and two chairs.

We allow a 15 minute grace period for start times; any additional time needed beyond your booked session will require extra payment.
